FACE OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) AND CYBER IN MODERN WARFARE, ITD ADISUTJIPTO UNIVERSITY RECTOR BECOMES A SPEAKER IN THE AI AND CYBER SEMINAR AT THE NAVAL TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE

Face the opportunities and challenges in the defense leveraging of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity in modern warfare, Rector of ITD Adisutjipto, Air Marshal First Lieutenant TNI Dr. Ir. Arwin Datumaya Wahyudi Sumari, IPU, ASEAN Eng., ACPE, responded to the invitation from the Naval Technology College (STTAL) to participate in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber Warfare Seminar in Modern Warfare, on Thursday (16/11/2023), held at the Pulau Nipa Auditorium, Technocrat Warrior Campus STTAL, Bumi Moro, Surabaya.

This seminar is an annual agenda of STTAL that, this time, carries the theme "The Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber in Modern Warfare." Approximately 350 people attended the seminar, including those participating online from their respective locations. The seminar is conducted with the aim of exploring and developing opportunities and challenges in mastering AI technology and strengthening national cybersecurity, especially in the military aspect, which plays a leading role in modern warfare.

Rector of ITD Adisutjipto is one of the three competent and expert speakers in the fields of AI and Cyber invited to this seminar. Speaker 1 is the Commander of STTAL, Rear Admiral TNI Dr. Mukhlis, S.T., M.M., CHRMP, CACA, CRMP, who discussed the sub-theme "History of War Technology"; Speaker 2 is the Chairman of the Indonesia Cyber Security Forum (ICSF), Ardi Suteja K., who addressed the sub-theme "The Role of Cyber in Modern Warfare"; and Speaker 3 is the Rector ITD Adisutjipto, who thoroughly explained the sub-theme "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Modern Warfare."

Military technology is rapidly advancing in the face of the dynamics of the strategic environment. Advanced military technology has integrated weapon systems with AI technology, making them smarter, more precise, and more efficient in modern warfare. On this occasion, ITD Adisutjipto University Rector introduced a new definition of warfare, namely Disruptive Warfare, a warfare that utilizes disruptive technologies such as AI, Big Data, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Additionally, Rector of ITD Adisutjipto also discussed various AI and Cybersecurity applications, original works of Indonesia, for defense and military purposes. Among them, the use of Indonesian AI technology, namely Knowledge Growing System (KGS), which is the precursor to Cognitive AI currently booming worldwide, was highlighted. It is hoped that this seminar will inspire participants to become digital military talents, mastering AI technology, Cybersecurity, and other disruptive technologies.
