Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi Wilayah V (Agency for Higher Education Service in Region V, Yogyakarta) and hereinafter abbreviated as LLDIKTI V is a work unit under the Secretariat General, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) which has duties and functions in the field of facilitating improvement in the quality of higher education implementation in the Special Region Province. Yogyakarta (DIY). LLDIKTI was formed with the promulgation of Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Number 15 of 2018 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Higher Education Service Institutions on April 10 2018. LLDIKTI is a transformation of the Higher Education Coordination (Kopertis) which was formed in 1968 and has been underwent several changes, most recently with the stipulation of Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 35 of 2021 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Higher Education Service Institutions.

LLDIKTI V is led by the Head of the Institution, Prof Setyabudi Indartono, MM., Ph.D with a total human resource of two Structural Officials consisting of the Head of the Institution and the Head of the General Division, Three Specific Functional Positions, 53 Executive Positions, 12 Non-Civil Servant Government Employees (PPNPN), and 335 Civil Servant Lecturers employed in Private Universities. Currently LLDIKTI Region V provides services covering 100 private universities spread across 4 districts and 1 city in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province.

Private Higher Education Institutions in DIY consists of 26 universities, 8 institutes, 32 colleges, 23 academies, 9 polytechnics and 1 community academy. Meanwhile, there are 782 study programs, and 282,093 active students. (source: LLDIKTI V internal data April 2024).

LLDIKTI has an important role as an extension of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology and the Directorate General of Vocational Education to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of quality improvement service support in the provision of higher education. LLDIKTI Region V is located at Jalan Army Student Number 13, Bumijo Village, Jetis Ministry, Yogyakarta City.
