Yogyakarta - Head of Region V Higher Education Service Institution Prof. Setyabudi Indartono, M.M., Ph.D. submitted the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology number 217/E/O/2024 concerning Permits to Change the Form of the "AKPRIND" Institute of Science and Technology in Yogyakarta to become AKPRIND Indonesia University in Yogyakarta which organized by the Development Potential Development Foundation (21/03/2024).
Taking place at the main campus of AKPRIND University Indonesia, the event was attended by Foundation Trustee Members Prof. Dr Harjum Muharam, S.E., M.E., Chairman of the Foundation, Ir. Sagoro Wedy, M.M., Chancellor of IST Akprind, Dr. Edhy Sutanta, S.T., M.Kom., and all levels of leaders. The event for handing over the decree on changing the form of higher education became a historical momentum for the transformation of the AKPRIND Institute of Science and Technology into a university. On this occasion, the Head of LLDIKTI Region V, Setyabudi Indartono congratulated on the achievement and also appreciated the service of AKPRIND University Indonesia which will enter its 52nd year in 2024. He also advised that this moment of change in form should also be the initial moment of change for the better amidst the current intense competition in higher education where universities must have strong branding. "Good quality must be accompanied by our institution being well known," emphasized Setyabudi.
On this occasion, the Chancellor of AKPRIND Indonesia University was also elected for the 2024 - 2028 period, Dr. Edhy Sutanta, S.T., M.Kom., who previously served as Chancellor of IST AKPRIND for the 2021 - 2025 period. In his welcoming session he expressed gratitude and thanks for the participation of all parties involved. "This is the right moment to change for the better, every study program must be able to provide the best and highest quality services," said Edhy. Foundation Trustee Member Prof. Dr Harjum Muharam, S.E., M.E added, "We have to change our mindset, we have to be progressive, don't always stay in the comfort zone."
At the end of the event, the gong was struck as a symbol of handing over the Decree on Changes to the Form of the College and the start of a new era as the Indonesian Akprind University which is committed to making a greater contribution to the progress of science and technology in Indonesia, providing quality education and the best service.
