“SNMPTN” applicants from underprivileged families are expected to finalize after registering
Jakarta, The Ministry of Education and Culture opens the opportunity for prospective students from underprivileged families who do not yet have the “Kartu Indonesia Pintar” (KIP) to keep registering for the National Selection to Enter State Universities (SNMPTN) by submitting an application for “KIP Kuliah”. Registration for “KIP Kuliah” is opened on the 2nd to 31st March 2020 until 11:59 p.m. via the page http://kip-kuliah.kemdikbud.go.id/ page.
Plt. Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Nizam, asserted that “KIP Kuliah” is a form of strengthening “Bidikmisi” program which is implemented through expanding access of students from underprivileged families to study at the university.
"This year, the Government issued the “KIP Kuliah” policy to be integrated with the policies that have been implemented for five years, namely “KIP” owned by high school and vocational high school students. It should be stated that the “KIP Kuliah” policy for temporary is intended only for prospective the new students on campus," Nizam stated at the Ministry of Education and Culture office, Jakarta, Monday (24/2).
In this moment, the SNMPTN registration has been opened. Initially, the registration will be closed on 27th February 2020 at 23.50 p.m., but specifically for the prospective students from underprivileged families who need the “KIP Kuliah”, it is extended time that provided which adjusts the registration of the “KIP Kuliah”, which is from 2nd to 31st March 2020.
For the prospective students who do not need financial support from the government and want to register for the State Higher Education (PTN) entrance selection through the SNMPTN, it can register until the specified date (February 27, 2020) and finalize immediately. Also for the prospective students who already have the “KIP Kuliah” at previous level of education.
The Head of the University Entrance Examination Institute Team (LTMPT), Mohammad Nasih, explained, for the prospective students from underprivileged families who did not yet have the “KIP Kuliah”, they could still register for the SNMPTN until filling out study programs and university choices. However, it is expected not to finalize before registering on the “KIP Kuliah” page.

It is well to start registering and filling information that needs to be included in the SNMPTN registration, but we appeal not to finalize it first. If the “KIP Kuliah” registration has been completed, then the SNMPTN registration can be finalized and printed cards."explained Nasih.
Confirmed by Nasih, the specific SNMPTN registration for underprivileged students who need the “KIP Kuliah” has indeed been extended until the end of March 2020, adjusting to the registration of the “KIP Kuliah” held on 2nd to 31st March 2020.
The SNMPT registration process can be done through at http://portal.ltmpt.ac.id/. On that page, the applicants will be asked to fill in their biography, choice of state universities, and study program options, as well as upload additional achievement documents (if any). The final step is finalization. If it has been finalized, the applicants considered to have finished registering, so they must print the Registration Card as the proof of SNMPTN participants.
For those who want to register for the “KIP Kuliah”, the prospective students can do it independently by directly accessing at http://kip-kuliah.kemdikbud.go.id/. After logging into that page, the system will validate ID number (NIK), National Student Registration Number (NISN), National School Principal Number/Nomor Pokok Sekolah Nasional (NPSN), and eligibility to obtain the “KIP Kuliah”.
If declared successful, the prospective students will get the registration number and access code to the e-mail that has been registered. Furthermore, the “KIP Kuliah” registration process is complete.
