GENERAL LECTURE TO PASIS SESKOAU A-60 TP 2023

Rector of the Adisutjipto Isntitute of Aerospace Technology (ITD Adisutjipto), Marsma TNI Dr. Ir. Arwin Datumaya Wahyudi Sumari, S.T., M.T., IPU, ASEAN Eng., ACPE gave a public lecture on Network-Centric Warfare and Cyber Warfare to Seskoau Student Officers A-60 TP 2023 on Tuesday, 1 August 2023 in Lembang, Bandung.

In the lecture it was conveyed, Network-Centric Warfare (NCW) or Network-Centric Operation (NCO) requires the availability of interconnections between the various main weapons system tools which are represented as nodes that have high-speed computing capabilities not only for data processing, but also for analyze intelligence data as a basis for decision making. In a modern military operation with an advanced technological infrastructure backbone, the Indonesian Air Force must be guided by the NCW/NCO paradigm based on the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) framework and the Observe-Orient-Decide decision-making cycle. -Act (OODA) or decision-making cycle for Artificial Intelligence-based systems namely Sense-Inference-Decide-Act (SIDA) to destroy the Five Rings of Defense. The main principle of NCW is through the What You See is What I See (WYSiWIS) paradigm, fast synchronization is formed between the main tools of the weapon system which produces joint situational awareness to achieve superiority in all areas of combat.

In the context of Cyber Warfare, it is conveyed that there has never been a real Cyber War because a war between countries must begin with a declaration of war, and it has never happened in cyberspace. However, anticipatory measures must always be carried out by deploying Cyberspace Operations (CyOps) because cyberattacks can occur anytime, anywhere by any actor using any device. What we have to watch out for now with the presence of various main tools for new weapons systems is the zero-day attack that can occur due to the intrusion of trojan hardware into its electronic systems.
