Building Integrity: Assistance and Visitation of Integrity Zones for All LLDIKTI in Indonesia

Yogyakarta – The Integrity Zone Mentoring and Visitation Program was initiated by the Integrity Zone Bureaucratic Reform Team of the Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology which aims to strengthen the culture of integrity in all Higher Education Service Institutions in Indonesia. The event took place in the Main Meeting Room of the LLDIKTI Region V (8/3/2024), attended by the Head of LLDIKTI, Chair of RBZI and area managers consisting of the Change Area, Apparatus HR Area, Management Area, Accountability Area, Supervision Area, and Public Service Areas of Higher Education Service Institutions (LLDIKTI) in Indonesia. The aim of this mentoring activity is to build a strong foundation in practices with integrity at LLDIKTI, so that it is hoped that it can create a higher quality and highly competitive higher education environment.

At the end of 2023, LLDIKTI Region V Yogyakarta succeeded in winning an award for its achievements in implementing Bureaucratic Reform with the title of Regional Integrity Zone Free from Corruption (ZI-WBK) in 2023 from the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia.

Due to the success in achieving this WBK, LLDIKTI Region V has become a benchmark for 16 LLDIKTIs throughout Indonesia. In line with LLDIKTI Region V's commitment to encouraging best practices in terms of transparency, accountability and ethics, LLDIKTI Region V is openly ready to provide good practices related to the implementation of integrity zones.

Kolaborasi Tingkatkan Integritas

Kolaborasi yang kuat merupakan kunci untuk membangun budaya integritas yang kokoh di dalam setiap Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi di Indonesia. Dalam upaya untuk memperkuat Zona Integritas, kerjasama antara berbagai Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi menjadi semakin penting. Kolaborasi tidak hanya pertukaran ide dan praktik terbaik, tetapi juga memperluas dampak positif yang dapat diciptakan dalam memajukan integritas di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi.

Sebagai bukti komitmen dalam memperkuat zona integritas di lingkungan Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi, diakhir sesi pendampingan LLDIKTI Wilayah V bersama dengan 16 LLDIKTI dan Tim Sekretariat RBZI Sesditjendikti Kemendikbudristek melakukan penandatangan komitmen pembangunan Zona Integritas menuju Wilayah Bebas dari Korupsi (WBK) dan Wilayah Birokrasi Bersih dan Melayani (WBBM).

Sebagai penutup Kepala LLDIKTI Wilayah V, Setyabudi Indartono menegaskan “Dalam rangka memperkuat integritas dan meningkatkan kualitas Pendidikan tinggi di Indonesia kami seluruh Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi (LLDIKTI) dengan tegas  berkomitmen bersama-sama untuk  membangun zona integritas yang kokoh dan terpercaya. Melalui sinergi dan kolaboratif bersama,  kami bertekad untuk menciptakan Lembaga yang bersih dan bebas dari praktek KKN,”imbuh Setyabudi.

Collaboration Increases Integrity

Strong collaboration is the key to building a strong culture of integrity within every Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) in Indonesia. In an effort to strengthen the Integrity Zone, collaboration between various Higher Education Service Institutions is becoming increasingly important. Collaboration is not only the exchange of ideas and best practices, but also expands the positive impact that can be created in advancing integrity in higher education environments.

As proof of commitment to strengthening integrity zones within Higher Education Service Institutions, at the end of the LLDIKTI Region V mentoring session together with 16 LLDIKTI and the RBZI Secretariat Team of the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, they signed a commitment to develop an Integrity Zone towards a Corruption Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM).

In closing, the Head of LLDIKTI Region V, Setyabudi Indartono emphasized "In order to strengthen integrity and improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia, all Higher Education Service Institutions (LLDIKTI) are firmly  committed together to  build a strong and trustworthy integrity zone. "Through joint synergy and collaboration,  we are determined to create an Institution that is clean and free from KKN practices," added Setyabudi.
