UMBY BK Study Program Deploys Teaching Campus Students

The Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Mercu Buana University Yogyakarta (BK UMBY) held a socialization of course conversion guidelines, on Friday (18/08/23). The socialization was attended by 7 students who are currently accepted as campus teaching agents for class VI 2023 which was carried out online via the zoom meeting platform. The 7 students are Melisa Siregar, Jasmin Mumtaz Az-zahra, Rindiani, Hana Qoidah Hanifah, Umi Hanifah, Salsa Arithsani, and Fauziana Hanifah. These students were placed in elementary schools in the Yogyakarta and Magelang areas, including SD Sedangsari Dlingo, SD Negeri 6 Minomartani, SD Negeri Kledokan, SD Negeri Bawuran, SD Negeri Sobowono, and SD Sukoharjo, Sedayu District.

Apart from discussing the socialization of course guidelines for study programs, the forum also conveyed information about the lecture process for students taking part in the sixth generation campus teaching program. The seven students who are campus teaching agents for the 6th class have been deployed since August 10 2023 and will serve at the school until December 5 2023.

Head of the BK Study Program, Luky Kurniawan S.Pd, M.Pd. conveyed his hopes to the Class VI teaching campus students so that they could balance completing the main assignments of teaching campus students and course conversion assignments.

"This course conversion assignment is not intended to be a burden but instead makes it easier for students so that the things they do during the campus teaching process can also be converted into study program courses. "The momentum of a teaching campus is a bridge to experience as an educator and also as a medium for developing values," he said.

Melisa Siregar, a BK UMBY student and also a Communications Contributor for the D.I Yogyakarta Region, feels proud to be part of the sixth generation campus teaching program.

"The teaching campus program gives us the opportunity to apply what we have learned regarding guidance and counseling services in supporting the teaching campus program, one of which can provide education regarding the dangers of bullying, sexual violence and intolerance," explained Melisa.
