Yogyakarta - Head of Region V Higher Education Service Institution Prof. Setyabudi Indartono, M.M., Ph.D. submitted the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology number 249/E/O/2024 concerning Permits for the Merger of the Ngesti Waluyo College of Health Sciences in Temanggung Regency and the Panti Wilasa College of Health Sciences in Semarang Regency to the Bethesda Yakkum College of Health Sciences in Yogyakarta organized by the Christian Foundation for Public Health (19/04/2024).
Simultaneously with the series of activities for the 15th Anniversary of the Bethesda Yakkum College of Health Sciences (Stikes) which took place at the Yogyakarta Cultural Park Building, a copy of the decision was received by the Chairman of the Management of the Christian Foundation for Public Health (Yakkum), Pdt. Simon Julianto, M.Sc. In his speech, Pastor Simon expressed his gratitude for the trust that had been given to Yakkum to be the organizer of three private universities which are now one. Pastor Simon added that Yakkum's "confusion" in uniting these three universities was enlightened by the quick response and role of LLDIKTI Region V which bridged two private universities within the scope of LLDIKTI Region VI Central Java (Stikes Ngesti Waluyo in Temanggung Regency and Stikes Panti Wilasa in Semarang Regency). "This is a belief that we must uphold, if we unite it, it must be developed, established and growing, don't be satisfied with what currently exists," said Pastor Simon to the leadership and staff of Stikes Bethesda Yakkum.
Head of LLDIKTI Region V, Prof. Setyabudi Indartono also had the opportunity to give a speech after the SK handover procession and remarks from the Chairman of the Foundation Management. In his speech, Setyabudi expressed high appreciation for all the achievements that Stikes Bethesda Yakkum had made. "15 years is not a short time but is proof of the extraordinary hard work that has been put in by all the leadership, all staff, and the academic community, so that the Bethesda Yakkum Stikes is not only able to survive, but is able to prove its consistency, works, and achievements. which is extraordinary," emphasized Seyabudi.
In 2022, Stikes Bethesda Yakkum succeeded in winning the gold ranking award from the Association of Indonesian Nursing Education Institutions (AIPNI) in 2022 for its success in achieving the best national graduation percentage in the 25-59 category of nurses' Ukom for the period of August 2022. Similar achievements were continued in 2023 as winners "The best passing percentage in Region 8 in Ukom Nursing Period 1," added Setyabudi.
At the end of his speech, Setyabudi hoped that this unification would further strengthen the branding of the Yakkum Education Unit and raise enthusiasm to continue to actively participate in the success of the Kemdikbudristek's Independent Learning Campus policy through the Teaching Campus program, MSIB, IISMA, and other programs.
The Unification Permit Decree was issued on March 22 2024. In the process of proposing this Unification, a PTS Unification/Merger Program Acceleration grant was obtained from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture in 2022. With this unification, Stikes Bethesda Yakkum has four study programs on the Main Campus (Yogyakarta) and four study programs outside the main campus (PSDKU). Hopefully Stikes Bethesda will become a superior educational center capable of producing quality human resources and able to compete at the global level.
